This program is designed for academically strong students who wish to pursue an accelerated program culminating in a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics and a Master of Science degree in Applied Statistics. This five-year program allows up to 15 credits of coursework to be dually counted toward both the BS and the MS degree.

Students must have completion of at least 12 credits of mathematics or statistics in the undergraduate statistics major at Florida State University with a GPA of at least 3.2 and completion of at least 60 credits at the Florida State University with a GPA of at least 3.0. Applicants whose native language is not in English and who have not studied in an English-speaking country for at least one academic year must have the minimum score of 550 on the paper-based test, 213 on the computer-based test, or 80 on the internet-based test is required for admission.

The Department of Statistics at The Florida State University was founded in September 1959 under the initiative and direction of Ralph Bradley.Since that time it has become one of the leading statistics departments in the United States. It has been the home at one time or another to many of the pioneers of modern statistics, including Frank Wilcoxon, Richard Savage, Frank Proschan, Jaroslav Hajek, Dev Basu, and Dennis Lindley. The faculty of the Department of Statistics has a distinguished record of research and teaching. The University has one of the most technologically advanced campuses in the country. The department has its own computer system. Every graduate student office contains a workstation and PC; there is also a common computer room. All of the computers are connected to our local area network. Through the network you have access to the University's mainframe computer, other local networks, and to the world through Internet. With permission, extremely large jobs can be run on the computers of the Supercomputer Computations Research Institute, which has a Connection Machine CM-2 that has 64,000 parallel processors and a cluster of 75 superworkstations.

Florida State University provides the on campus housing for graduate and undergraduates. Graduate Housing has Alumni Village, Rogers Hall and Ragans Hall. Alumni Village has apartment types of one, two and three bedrooms. Single students prefer the one or two bedroom flats and married students prefer the two or three bedroom. A limited number of apartments have air conditioning units. Each apartment is furnished with a two-seat sofa, a side chair, a dining table and four chairs, a desk and desk chair, a dresser, one double bed and one night table, full-size refrigerator, Cable TV, phone, computer services, mail delivery and laundry facilities. The graduate housing rates are provided in this website http://www.housing.fsu.edu/housing/grad/avrates.html. Undergraduate Housing offers a wide variety of Residence Hall and Apartment Living. The residence hall are provided on the east and west campus area having the amenities such as Kitchens, TV Lounges, Study Rooms, Recreation Rooms, Phone Services, Laundry Rooms, Computer Connections, Vending and Ice Machines. In a suite-style residence hall, two rooms are connected by a bathroom. Bathrooms may be shared by 4-5 students. Community style residence halls are arranged in the traditional corridor style in which 35 -40 students share the bathrooms. Undergraduate Housing rental rates are provided in this website http://www.housing.fsu.edu/housing/ungrad/rates_dates.html. All students who reside in renovated residence halls on the East side of campus are required to purchase a meal plan membership. Students residing in DeGraff, Deviney, Dorman, Kellum, McCollum, Ragans, Salley, Smith and Wildwood Halls are not required to purchase a meal membership, but many choose to do so.
