The School of Human Resource Development and Technology prepares students at the Bachelor's and Master's level for career areas in industry such as human resource development, industrial technology, distribution, safety, technology, and training and development. The recently approved B.S. in Construction Management is drawing regional attention and graduated the first alumnis in December 2007. The School of HRDT received accreditation of its baccalaureate degrees in November 2002 from the National Association of Industrial Technology.

UT Tyler is home to more than 800 resident students who live in Ornelas Hall, Patriot Village or University Pines.
