This program is intended to prepare individuals for administrative service and leadership positions in schools, institutions of higher education, or other agencies. The doctoral program provides instructional experiences designed for satisfactory development of conceptual, human, and technical skills and understandings required for successful leadership in various administrative roles with emphasis on educational research, the role of the leader in the social order, community power structure, and organizational theory. Within their program of studies, students may complete requirements for the superintendent endorsement to the Type 75 Illinois Administrative Certificate.

Applicant should have received a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. They should have a minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average 2.75 out of a 4. 0 scale. They should also have minimum cumulative graduate grade point average of 3.0 out of a 4.0 scale. Test Results of the Graduate Records Examinations: Verbal 450, Quantitative 450 or combined score exceeding 900, Analytical 3.5. A waiver of this requirement may be granted to applicants who hold a complete, accredited graduate degree. A minimum, verifiable two years full time administrative experience is required.
