This Concentration in Health Law is intended for JD students who have a definite interest to practice in the field of health law. Students with the Concentration in Health Law or an LL.M in Health Law, Policy or Bioethics could find employment in law firms with a health law specialty, health care institutions, health insurance companies, health plans, pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers and government agencies with responsibilities in health.

This program module includes Required Core Courses: Administrative Law, Closely Held Business Organizations, Financing and Regulation of Health Care, Bioethics and Law, Advanced Research and Writing Requirement (1 of 2 required): Advanced Research in Health Law, Indiana Health Law Review, Advanced Courses (4 of 15 required): AIDS: Ethical, Legal, and Policy Issues, Antitrust and the Health Care Industry, Business and Legal Aspects of Health Care Organizations, Food and Drug Law, Insurance Law, International and Comparative Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Law, Issues in Death and Dying, Law of Medical Malpractice, Law and Public Health, New Genetics: Ethical, Legal and Policy Issues, Psychiatry and the Law, Research on Human and Non-Human Subjects, Social Regulation of the Body and Its Processes, Topics in Health Law, Seminar in Health Policy, Law and Bioethics.

Applicants must have a baccalaureate degree from an approved college or university with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.3 on a 4.0 scale. International applicants must have a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based version), 213 (computer-based version), or 79 (internet-based version) or an IELTS score of 6.0 or successful completion of ELS Language Centers Intensive Program Level 112. Students from Japan must have a "Pre-First Grade" score on the STEP Eiken.
