Consideration for graduate-level study requires the completion of a degree comparable to a United States bachelor's degree with superior grades from an accredited institution of higher education. This typically means the completion of a degree of at least four years duration beyond the 12th year of school. Graduates of junior college programs from Taiwan are not eligible for graduate programs. No transfer credit is awarded for work taken before the completion of grade 12. Applicants from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh must have completed at least an M.S., M.A., M.Com., B.Engr., or other degree of at least four years duration beyond grade 12 to be considered for graduate study. For students from Europe and the former Soviet Union, the university considers the first degree of three to four years duration under the new Bologna degree scheme to be comparable to a U.S. bachelor's degree. Most graduate programs require the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). These tests are conducted at centers throughout the world by the Educational Testing Service of Princeton, NJ. Applicants for whom English is a second language must present evidence of proficiency in the English language in one of the following ways: An official TOEFL score of 550 on the paper-based test (213 on the computer-based test or 79 on the internet-based test) or higher sent directly from the Educational Testing Service. Scores over two years old by the beginning of the term students wish to enter are not acceptable unless they have been attending school in the United States since the test date. Some graduate programs require a score higher than 550. Check with the individual department for more specific information. Students may obtain information about the test by writing to TOEFL, Box 899, Princeton, NJ 08541, U.S.A, or by accessing the TOEFL website. An official IELTS score of 6.5 is required.

स्थानबारे जानकारी
The History of Science Department was established in 1971 by the University President's Committee on the History of Science. Before that, the History of Science Program was nominally part of the Department of History, while most recommendations on major matters (e.g., new faculty appointments) were made through a special trans-disciplinary faculty Committee on the History of Science which reported directly to the President. Since its inception, the program has been closely tied to the History of Science Collections in the University Libraries, which dates from a gift of rare books by University of Oklahoma alumnus Everette L. DeGolyer.

आवास सम्बन्धी विस्तृत जानकारी
All single freshmen students under 20 years of age must live in a University residence hall for the academic year except for those who have earned 24 or more hours of college credit in residence or have already lived in University residence halls for two academic semesters, specifically, the spring and fall semesters. CLEP, AP, or hours earned through concurrent enrollment or similar opportunities are not applicable. Exemption from this policy is by special permission only. There are the Towers that have semi-private bathrooms, the Quads with community bathrooms, and special interest housing offerings such as the Academic Arts Community (part of the Honors College), or the Global Community, the select residence hall community with a kitchen. Students can find just the right fit for them within an exceptional residential community of students and scholars. Since OU is one of only a few public universities in the nation with faculty families living in residence halls, students can even develop intergenerational friendships. Faculty in Residence and Resident Advisors organize events and activities for students in their residence halls, allowing students to meet other students as well as professors and staff from across the OU campus.
