This program directed toward students who plan to teach and perform research in a university setting. Once accepted into this program, students will select a special committee of graduate faculty members (three for Phd candidates), who will guide the candidate in developing a course of study suited to his or her background and interests. Candidates for this degree will develop a broad-based knowledge of hospitality management; learn research methodology, including statistical methods; become proficient at in-depth research; and acquire teaching and administrative skills.

Students seeking admission must have completed a masters’ degree. International applicants must have a minimum TOEFL score of 100 on the Internet-based test (iBT), 250 on the computer-based test (CBT) or 600 on the paper-based test (PBT); IELTS score minimum (writing, 6; reading, 6; listening, 6; speaking, 6; overall, 6).
