This program is designed to prepare students to become scholars and leaders. The scholar not only discovers, integrates, and applies knowledge but also communicates and disseminates it. The PhD graduate has the ability to make significant contributions to scholarship in physical therapy. Students in a PhD program are required to grasp complex intellectual issues in addition to the highly technical standards necessary for research and scholarship.

Applicants must have: Baccalaureate degree or its equivalent from U.S. Accredited institutions or international degree equivalent to U.S accredited institutions; Two (2) letters of reference from practicing professionals; appropriate scores on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). All international students are required to submit TOEFL scores in order to be considered for admission to UCA. It require TOEFL scores in order to ensure that all entering students have the English skills necessary to be successful in their classes. The required TOEFL scores are: 550 - Paper-based Test; 213 - Computer-based Test; 80 - Internet-based Test. The required IELTS score is 6.5.
