This program is designed to accommodate the interests of students who desire a career leading to a leadership position in a manufacturing organization. Students who select the manufacturing systems engineering concentration of the dual degree program must select the non-thesis option.

Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by the appropriate regional accrediting agency. An overall grade-point average of at least 2.7 of a possible 4.0, or 3.0 of 4.0 during the senior year of the undergraduate program is required by the Graduate School. Applicants with previous graduate work must have a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or equivalent on all graduate work. Applicants with work experience who are entering graduate school after at least 5 years away from an educational institution will be given consideration with greater flexibility relative to GPA. The graduate committee in the department sets any prerequisite courses or other measures that apply to the particular situation of the applicant. The department and the Office of Graduate Admissions and Records must be notified of any change in the entering date after admission has been granted. In addition to the minimal requirements of the Graduate School, the Department of Industrial and Information Engineering also requires the following: Admission Recommendation Forms or letters of reference from 3 references; GRE Scores (General Test); TOEFL Scores (required for all international students unless they have completed an undergraduate degree program at a US institution); Essay (2 double-spaced pages).
