The Ed.S. Program in School Psychology follows a scientist-practitioner model that provides a foundation on which program goals and objectives are based. The mission of the program is to train School Psychologists who value, adopt, and apply a scholarly attitude toward the practice of psychology in diverse settings. The scientist-practitioner School Psychologist must possess a comprehensive knowledge base in psychology and education which may be applied both to practice, and understanding and generation of new knowledge. The School Psychologist must also demonstrate understanding of application, understanding and respect for diversity, value for life-long learning, commitment to professional involvement, and involvement in the scholarly practice of problem-solving to enhance the lives of children, youth, and families.

Students should have the complete a minimum of 73 semester hours of graduate course work, with a grade point average of 3.50 or above; personal resume and statement of the student's objectives in seeking this degree are requested. Three letters of recommendation supporting the student's application materials. Have earned a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 2.70 in all undergraduate coursework. Have earned a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 on all graduate course work. Completion and submission of official scores from the General Test of the Graduate Record Examinations.
