The mission of Touro University-California is to provide quality educational programs in the fields of health care and education in concert with the Judaic commitment to social justice, intellectual pursuit, and service to humanity. Touro University California is a rapidly expanding graduate education institution focusing on health careers and teacher preparation programs. Touro University is composed of two campuses - the main campus located in Vallejo, California and the branch campus in Henderson, Nevada. This University is one of more than 25 division campuses within Touro College, a Jewish sponsored not-for-profit educational system principally located in New York. Touro University - California is the anchor tenant of the Mare Island complex, previously occupied by the United States Navy and used as a cryptographic school and education center. The 44 acre campus, shaded by eucalyptus trees and surrounded by San Pablo Bay, is a rare and tranquil site for this growing academic center. Touro University - Nevada is located in one of the most rapidly growing cities in the United States, and is becoming recognized as an outstanding health science center serving the greater Las Vegas area. Touro College and Touro University have developed educational programs in concert with societal and community needs.
