This program is designed to produce leaders in the accounting field and in business in general. Students who have indicated a desire to major in accounting will be selected based on academic performance. The Honors Accounting Program features: an enriched curriculum; interaction with accounting faculty and alumni in informal settings; participation in Honors Program field trips and employer site visits; exceptional internship opportunities and sharing resumes with key employers. Honor students are also encouraged to participate in the combined B.S. Business Administration/Masters program which provides opportunities to earn a graduate degree in accounting and business advisory services, finance, or taxation. The appeal of entering the combined program is that, with only an additional year of work beyond four years of undergraduate work. It allows students to: deepen their understanding of accounting and related fields; gain access to graduate courses; obtain a Masters degree; and facilitate qualification for the CPA examination. Honors students who graduate in good standing receive a special designation on their transcripts upon graduation. Admission to the Honors program is by invitation only. Invitees, who have indicated a desire to major in accounting, will be selected based on performance in Introduction to Financial Accounting and Introduction to Managerial Accounting with a GPA of 3.5 or better or by faculty recommendation.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or a General Educational Diploma (GED) from an accredited institution or equivalent with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and a minimum of 21 credits. These credits include four (Carnegie) units of English, three units of mathematics (algebra I, algebra II and geometry), three units of science (two with labs), three units of social sciences and the remaining units in fine arts, foreign language, technology education or other academic electives. International Students must have minimum TOEFL score of 550 on paper based, 213 on computer based or 79 on the Internet based test.
