In this program students must maintain a GPA of 3.00 to take Honors courses and remain in the Honors Program. All Honors Program students will be reviewed yearly. Any Honors students falling below a 3.00 GPA at the end of any year of study will be contacted and removed from the Honors Program. They are also required to complete the requirements for the Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History.

Students must have transcripts of all secondary and post-secondary work, a minimum score of 80 (TOEFL ibt), 550 (paper), or 213 (computer) in TOEFL (for international students from non-English speaking country) or 6.5 or better in IELTS, applicants to the Nursing major must have a minimum TOEFL score of 100 (TOEFL ibt), 600 (paper), or 250 (computer). Student must minimum 3.40 GPA and has taken two Honors courses and received a grade of B or better may apply for formal admission to the Honors program.

This department is dedicated to education and research in the history of the visual arts. We emphasize undergraduate education for majors and non-majors alike; the training of graduate students who will make significant contributions to art history and be competitive at the highest reaches of the discipline; and high-level research in the field and the dissemination of that research. The Department is committed to the broad coverage of the history of Western art that has been the hallmark of a degree in art history from the University of Delaware. At the same time our curriculum embraces expanding approaches and subject areas of Art History. The Department is situated near New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, DC, making it possible for students to take advantage of the wealth of museums and research facilities in these major cities.

This university provides both on-campus and graduate housing. The student rooms include beds, desks, each residential hall furnished with mailboxes, chairs, dressers, wardrobe closets, and lighting with all bathrooms (except guest bathrooms) are assigned as specifically male or female. Students are permitted to bring telephones (no extra cost for telephone installation), a fan, radios and stereos, a TV, a desk or study lamp, a computer, a few plates, mugs, and glasses for snacks, have refrigerator and microwave. Students can study in their rooms, as well as in study lounges that are provided in many residence halls. All graduate student and family housing includes the following at no extra charge: local telephone service (bring the touch-tone telephone and enjoy free features including call hold, call waiting, and automatic call back), voice Mail (each student has a private voice mailbox and each room or apartment has voice mail answering service), utilities (heat, air conditioning, electric and water are all included), data (install an Ethernet card and network software in the student's computer and take advantage of high-speed access to the campus network and the Web), cable TV (can connect their TV and FM radio to the cable and enjoy quality radio and 61 TV channels including the major networks, "super stations," satellite channels (i.e., CNN, ESPN, MTV, SCOLA), and University channels. All buildings have convenient, low-cost laundry facilities), parking is not included in the rental rate. However, a resident student parking permit can be purchased.
