स्थानबारे जानकारी
In the Department of Religion and Classics students explore the great, classical civilizations of West and East and the major religions that emerged from them. The Department offers programs of study in the history and philosophy of the world's major religions, in Greek, Latin, Hebrew, Arabic, and Sanskrit languages and literatures, and in ancient Mediterranean and Asian civilizations. Through the study of important classical, biblical, and religious writings, either in the original language or in translation, students critically examine the beliefs, ideas, values, rituals, and traditions that have shaped Western and Asian cultures and study the ways these have persisted and changed from ancient to contemporary times.

आवास सम्बन्धी विस्तृत जानकारी
The University of Rochester provides University housing for more of its post baccalaureate students than most comparable institutions. However, University housing is not guaranteed for all who are eligible and wish to live in University facilities. The University maintains five apartment complexes that serve graduate students, medical students, and postgraduate trainees. Each of these complexes has nearby off-street parking, coin-operated laundry facilities, and University bus service. People with children will find safe playgrounds at University Park and Whipple Park. These two complexes, as well as the Graduate Living Center Maisonettes, have broad lawn areas nearby for outdoor activities. Goler House and University Towne House have a somewhat more urban atmosphere, closer to stores, restaurants, and public transportation. All freshmen, as well as a very select group of upperclass resident advisors and other upperclass support students, live in the freshman residence halls. Approximately 1,200 freshmen and upperclass students live in the Susan B. Anthony Halls and in Gilbert, Hoeing, and Tiernan Halls in the Quad. Susan B. Anthony, on the crest of the hill, is bounded by the Rush Rhees Library, Fauver Stadium, the Towers Residence complex, and a natural area. All freshman halls have been renovated in recent years and offer unique living opportunities for their freshman students. Most freshmen will share a double room with another freshman student; however, there also are a limited number of single rooms that will house freshman students. There are some triple rooms. Every room on River Campus has a wired high-speed computer connection (ResNet), per student, to the University’s systems and the Internet. In addition, each room has a cable outlet. The following items are provided for every room: a bed, desk and chair, bookcase, dresser, closet space, a shared wastebasket, window coverings.
