The School of Communications and Theater (SCT) ranks among the largest, most comprehensive schools of communications in the country, and it is considered the Philadelphia region’s leading provider of media employees. The School now enrolls more than 3,800 undergraduate and graduate students and employs 85 full-time faculty members. All facilities in the School of Communications and Theater are uniquely outfitted for the teaching, research and production of all disciplines of communications study. Annenberg Hall alone includes video and film editing areas, a 75-seat film and video screening room, journalism and photography labs, broadcast and film production areas, electronic news writing and editing rooms, and multimedia labs. The communications center features a café, a multimedia information center, a venue for displaying student work and a reception area. All the classrooms are equipped with a variety of digital and media equipment for instructional use.

Graduate housing for students can be available at Triangle Apartments and Podiatry Housing Complex. The Triangle Apartment Complex is located on the 1900 block of North Broad Street and the 1400 block of West Norris Street on the Main Campus. It is a unique facility comprised of converted brownstones, with some units featuring loft bedrooms and spiral staircases. Each building houses approximately five units. The Triangle Complex features: two graduate resident assistants who live in the complex; front entrance security intercom systems; security screens on all first floor units; laundry rooms; a large television/ social room with a big screen television; large secured courtyard; and tennis courts located conveniently behind the complex. In addition to this, each unit within the complex features: wall-to-wall carpeting; room air conditioner units; kitchens; tiled bathrooms; and window shades. Podiatry Housig is a seven-story apartment building located at 8th and Cherry Street in Central Philadelphia. The complex features: occupancy of 127 residents in a seven story complex; efficiencies; one, two and three bedrooms; and all apartments are furnished. Students can also find housing at residential halls such as Johnson and Hardwick Halls; Peabody Hall; James S. White Hall; 1940 Park Mall; 1300; Temple Towers; Elmira Jeffries; and The Edge.
