Student should have taken a solid load of the more challenging courses available. Most competitive students will have a B+/A- average or better within a rigorous course of study. SAT I and/or ACT scores are very important but are not the deciding factor. Strong grades in rigorous courses may cause the committee to overlook below average standardized test scores, but high board scores will never make up for an applicant’s weak course selection or grades.

The University maintains more than 20 residence halls and more than a dozen dining facilities to serve the campus community. The Office of Residence Life and Housing provides students with a variety of housing options including theme halls, a single-sex hall, single rooms, double rooms, supersingle rooms (on a limited basis), and full apartments for one, two, three, and four people. Emory Dining menus emphasize organic, local, natural and sustainable choices. Each residence hall or apartment has unique characteristics and amenities, which allows students to choose the living option that best suits them.
