The CBA requirements may be met by completing the foundation courses (24 credits for the MBA and MSM programs and 6 for the MTax program unless waived based on College of Business Administration Policy) and 30-34 semester hours of advanced courses in the CBA. The CBA will accept up to 9 semester credits of law courses with grades of “B” or higher to fulfill MBA and MSM requirements. The exact number of credits accepted depends on the specific MBA concentration. The CBA will also accept up to 9 semester credits of law courses to fulfill MTax requirements, all of which must be in approved tax courses. All law courses used to fulfill CBA requirements must be approved by the Director of Graduate Programs in Business and the student must have earned grades of “B” or better in them. To earn both degrees, a total of 97-102 credits are required, depending on the Master’s program pursued. More credits may be required for the CBA Masters degree if Foundation Courses are required.

To be eligible for graduate admission, you must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited American university or a bachelor’s degree that required at least three years of study at an institution outside the United States and have an academic standing of first- or high second- class. If you hold a three-year bachelor’s degree, you must present evidence of sufficient post-baccalaureate education to equal a four-year degree or you will be required to take the entire foundation core, regardless of your previous business education. International students must show satisfactory evidence of competence in English. A TOEFL score of 550 or above is expected. The average Graduate Management Admissions Test score of admitted students is 565 and the average GPA is 3.3. To be competitive, students should strive for GMAT scores above the 50th percentile. GMAT Analytical Writing Assessment scores above 3.5 generally indicate acceptable writing skills. If students writing score is below 3.5, students may be asked to retake the GMAT or enroll in the course, "Writing for MBAs.” Students are required to submit additional writing samples in the form of a resume and statement of purpose. If students are applying to the College of Business Administration/School of Law joint degree program, and have been admitted to the School of Law, the CBA will accept the score reports of the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) in lieu of the GMAT. Students must arrange for the School of Law to forward a copy of LSAT results to the CBA’s Graduate Programs office. An applicant eligible for consideration is not guaranteed an offer of admission. It must be recognized that staff, facilities and resources are limited. As a result, offers of admission may be limited to the most qualified of the eligible applicants as determined by the CBA Graduate Admissions Committee (GAC).
