As a student at the Shepard Broad Law Center students won't just earn a degree— they will encounter the real spirit and practice of law. The center's 21st century curriculum, which integrates a solid foundation in traditional legal subjects and a pioneering clinical program, sets us apart from other law schools. More than 1,000 talented students are enrolled in our full-time day and part-time evening programs. With more than 140 rich and diverse courses and programs, students will get a solid grounding in core legal subjects. From the first day of their studies, they will learn the day-to-day realities of the legal profession. The four-semester Layering Skills and Values sequence—one of the most innovative programs of its kind in the country—will teach students how lawyers spend their time, use their skills, and apply their values.

Minimum requirements include a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution; a 3.0 undergraduate grade point average on a 4.0 scale (averaged across all undergraduate schools attended), or a 3.5 graduate-level grade point average on a 4.0 scale (averaged across all graduate schools attended). The requirement for 18 semester hours of course work in psychology will be waived with a score of 600 or higher on the Graduate Record Examination, Psychology Test. A combined score greater than 1000 for GRE verbal and quantitative is preferred. The GRE Psychology Test is recommended, but not required. For International students TOEFL is required while their native is not English. Achievement of these pre requirements is necessary for an application to be considered for a doctoral program. Higher GPA and GRE scores indicating greater potential to complete doctoral-level work will enhance an application. A combined GRE verbal and quantitative score greater than 1000 is preferred. Other factors include: (1) previous courses taken, especially quantitative for Ph.D. and biological for Clinical Health and Clinical Neuropsychology; (2) previous clinical and research experience; (3) evidence of interest in psychology; (4) the applicant's personal statement; and (5) three letters of recommendation.
