The program is designed for liberal arts and science students who seek to pursue full-time professional studies in accounting at the graduate level. Students who accrue more than 9 credits in accounting at the undergraduate level, or who earn an undergraduate degree through the Rutgers Business School.

A master degree is required for Ph.D. A bachelor degree is required for Masters for admission. TOEFL scores 540 Paper-Based Test (PBT), 207 Computer-Based Test (CBT), 76 Internet-Based Test (IBT) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Overall Band score of 6.5 or higher (if applicable). Acceptable scores for all colleges except the College of Nursing are 550+ on the paper and pencil test, 213+ on the computer test, or 79+ on the Internet-based test. For College of Nursing applicants, the acceptable scores are 600+ on the paper and pencil test, 250+ on the computer test, or 100+ on the Internet-based test. Only Official GRE (or MAT) scores sent or verified by ETS will be accepted.
