This program combines a medical education with an intensive research experience and is designed for students who are interested in pursuing a career in academic medicine. The College of Medicine and the School of Graduate Studies jointly sponsor a program leading to an excellent, combined M.D./Ph.D. degree. All students are expected to work in research laboratories during the first two summers of their medical school tenure. They then spend approximately three to four years in the School of Graduate Studies taking advanced courses and pursuing research leading to a PhD thesis.

Students should have master degree from a CHEA regionally accredited college or university; and a minimum undergraduate cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Medical College Application Test (MCAT) scores received within three years of application are required for admission. In addition to this, students whose native language is not an English they must have a minimum TOFEL score of 564 on paper based exam, 223 on computer based exam, 79 – 95 on internet based exam.
