पाठ्यक्रमबारे सारश
This program supports students interested in working across medium boundaries to create unique interfaces for public engagement. The program not only concentrates on contemporary photographic practices but also media often associated with photography such as video, sound, performance, installation and interdisciplinary work - possibly outside any traditionally defined art media. By offering a creative and supportive environment, the M.F.A. in Visual Arts with an emphasis in Photography and Intermedia strives to advance image-based artists who want to explore new arenas of art making. Graduate students in the program will work with outstanding faculty, facilities and equipment to gain an in-depth understanding of professional studio practices. An emphasis is placed on developing one’s own individual creative vision along with exploring a range of professional opportunities such as university teaching, interdisciplinary collaboration and community-based, site-specific initiatives (Public Art). Graduate students at Herron gain mastery in practical strategies for making art as well as an understanding of the theoretical issues and historical context involved in producing art for a 21st century urban context.
