The joint master’s program in English and library and information science prepares students for careers as subject specialists in academic or public libraries. Subject specialists typically work in such areas as collection development, reference, and bibliographic instruction.

Applicants must have earned a baccalaureate or higher degree from an accredited college or university. International students whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency by obtaining minimum TOEFL score of 570 (paper-based) or 80 (internet-based). Applicants may also take the International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) in lieu of the TOEFL. A minimum score of 6.5 is required for the IELTS.
