This program emphasizes research, history, literature, and the theory of music. Within the 30 hours required, the following are minimum requirements: music history (9 hours); research (6-9 hours); theory-analysis (6 hours); electives (6-9 hours). This program practices presupposes the same strong liberal arts training as the music history and literature concentration, plus a strong performance interest and background.
