This degree option is only available to students who have completed the undergraduate Radiological Health Science (honors) major at Purdue University. The students from Nuclear Engineering would take their prescribed courses for the 8 semesters of study normally leading to a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering. The students from Health Sciences would take their prescribed courses for the 8 semesters of study leading to a B.S. in Radiological Health Science (Honors). The 5th year studies would require a total course load of 33 credit hours. The student may only choose the non-thesis MS option. The NE students will be required to write a major paper or perform an experiment and write a report as part of the specified practicum experience.

Master's Degree Admission: Minimum 3.2/4.0 GPA. B.S. in Nuclear Engineering, related Engineering, or Physics. Admission requires approval of Graduate Committee. TOEFL is required for International Students. Minimum TOEFL scores of Writing 18, Speaking 18, Listening 14, Reading 19, Total 77 or 550 on the previous test score. Must have been taken within the past two years. GRE is only required for students seeking financial support. Minimum GRE scores of 550 verbal, 750 quantitative and 4.5 analytical are expected. Must have been taken within the past two years.

The engineering faculty, researchers, graduate students, and undergraduate students are making hydrogen fuel cells more efficient, helping fight AIDS in Africa, developing working evacuation-systems for natural disasters, and creating technologies to prevent and deal with possible terrorist attacks. Purdue engineers are working in virtually any area in which their expertise can benefit humanity. In the College of Engineering, they do everything they can to encourage and support the people. They are engineering the solutions to the grand challenges of the 21st century. College of Engineering has already grown from fewer than 300 faculty members to more than 325. They are supporting this expansion with new facilities and funding. Purdue University provides the on campus housing for students with many housing options like University Residences, Cooperative housing, Fraternities, sororities, off-campus apartments and houses. Living in the University Residences provides students with many opportunities to develop their leadership abilities and they strive to provide a safe environment. Residences provide the facilities such as Bulletin Boards, Check-Cashing and ATMs, Copy Machine, Laundry and Vending, Mailing, Repairs and Maintenance. The Room/Apartment provides the Beds, Mattress and mattress pad/cover, Curtains, Desk with lamp and chair, Dresser, Closet and drawer space, Trash can Smoke detector, Telephone, All utilities and local telephone service, Internet outlets, Cable television outlet and services. The residence housing rates are given in this website (http://www.housing.purdue.edu/HTML/HOUSRates.htm). The Residences has the Dining Services which provides a variety of convenient options offering delicious, nutritious food. Students choose from a number of dining locations that are close to class or home. They can choose to dine buffet style in the dining courts, take out from an On-the-Go or grab a bite from the late-night restaurants or mini-marts. University Residences offers a variety of meal plans to fit their busy schedule. Students may choose from the 10, 12, 15 or 20-meal traditional plans. Cooperative housing is where students live and work together to promote friendship, leadership, and life skills. Cooperative houses have between 14 and 60 members which share responsibilities such as cleaning and preparing meals to maintain a comfortable and affordable living environment. Cooperative housing has 12 houses in which 7 for women and 5 for men.
