This program provides students not only with a strong background in critical thinking, analysis, and writing, but also with first-hand experience through original field research. Its students students can present their research and engage with others who share similar interests, both through Tufts' Anthropology Collective and through the Greater Boston Anthropology Consortium, which connects faculty and students across several campuses. This combination of intellectual community, disciplinary breadth, global and local understanding, hands-on research, and public engagement makes Anthropology a strong liberal arts major and an excellent preparation for both graduate school and a wide range of careers.

This university was found in 1852, it is one of the premier universities in the United States. It enjoys a global reputation for academic excellence and for preparing students as leaders in a wide range of professions. More than 98 percent of enrolling students expect to pursue graduate or professional study. Approximately 40 percent of all undergraduates attending Tufts pursue course work outside the United States to add a strong international dimension to their field of study, and the university's language studies are both popular and rigorous. Tufts balances teaching with research, and students are encouraged to develop strong analytical skills. The university is among the top 10 research universities for the percentage of undergraduates who study abroad, has ranked as one of the top Peace Corps suppliers among universities its size. Tufts School of Dental Medicine faculty and students provide dental care to more than 10,000 people in the Boston area per year. Tufts' Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy is the oldest continuous international relations graduate program in the country. Arts and Sciences graduate students share space and resources with Tufts' larger community, including about 500 graduate engineering students and 4,600 undergraduates. There are students from more than forty nations, ranging from Bosnia-Herzegovina to Venezuela. About 13 percent of students are from other nations, and about 14 percent of enrolled Americans are of black, Latino, Native American, or Asian descent. It has 13% of international students.

This university provide undergraduate housing Bush Hall, Lewis Hall, Carmichael Hall, Hodgdon Hall, Hillside Apartments, Latin Way, Miller Hall, Metcalf Hall, Richardson Hall, South Hall, West Hall, 94 Curtis Street, 9-11 Sunset Road, 10 Winthrop Street, 12 Dearborn. Seniors can stay in Sophia Gordon Hall, Stratton Hall. All student rooms have a bed, a desk and desk chair, a dresser and a closet or free-standing wardrobe for each student. Beds are extra-long single size. The beds on campus have been replaced with new frames that provide for variable mattress height; these multi-position beds have eleven height adjustments, up to 32 inches, with 30" of space underneath when raised to the maximum level. Each room is equipped with one telephone jack, one cable television jack, and an Ethernet port for each resident. Entering students and sophomores are required to live on campus unless commuting from home. Full-time graduate students in the first year of their programs in the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Nutrition, or College of Special Studies may apply for on-campus graduate student housing. The Tufts University Residential Life Office assigns Fairmont, McCollester, and Tousey Houses as graduate student residences. These houses are located in the "uphill" section of the Medford campus, off of Winthrop Street. Collectively, these three houses offer 39 single occupancy rooms. The rooms come in three sizes and are priced accordingly. No two rooms are exactly the same size. Each residence has a common room or lounge and shared bathrooms. One small kitchen is available in each residence and is shared with all of the occupants of each house. One kitchen must be shared amongst 10 to 16 residents, with limited storage space.
