This program is for those students interested in teaching earth science in grades 9-12, and meets the requirements for licensure in Science (grades 5-8). It is particularly strong in providing in-depth coverage of the wide range of Earth Science subjects needed for Minnesota licensure, including Physical Geology, Historical Geology, Meteorology, Astronomy and Planetary Science, Oceanography, and Interaction of People with the Land.

Applicant must have completed their secondary education within their home country (usually 12 years) and be entitled to acceptance into the universities in their home countries. If grade reports are not issued with a U.S. 4.0 grading system, then the Coordinator of International Student Affairs will evaluate applicant’s grade report or mark sheet to determine eligibility. They must have English proficiency as evidenced by a TOEFL score (500 on paper test, 173 on computer test, or 61 on internet test), IELTS score (5.5 or better), MELAB score (80 or better), completion of ELS course 112, or completion of Kaplan course.
