This program is aimed at advanced analysis, testing and modeling of the properties of traditional and new materials, seeking quantitative measure of physical efficiency: i.e., mechanical, structural, thermal, optical, etc.; and qualitative criteria of sensorial performance: i.e., auditory, haptic, kinetic, visual, etc. A final purpose is to establish a dual protocol of precise observation and imaginative experimentation, where the material becomes plastic, in the laboratory space available to the free and ordered play of invention, where a conservation of force as well as a conservation of material is realized, obtaining a true economy of production--conceptual, ethical and aesthetical.

Minimum Requirements of GPA 3.0 TOEFL 550 (paper based), 213 (cBT), 80 overall(iBT), with 26 minimum for spoken language, IELTS 7. International students who wish to be considered for a Teaching Assistantship must complete the iBT. GRE recommended, 3 letters of recommendation, Statement of purpose for graduate study indicating area of interest for research and thesis development, Portfolio of creative work including academic projects, design and professional work (include postage if return desired), Biographical profile including a complete record of academic and professional work.
