This area of concentration is designed to educate students in the preservation of the built environment as part of a comprehensive conservation ethic. The curricular program, which leads to a Certificate in Preservation Studies, is interdisciplinary, teaching holistic problem-solving within an integrated environment of natural and cultural resources; intra-institutional, promoting collaborative engagement between public and private institutions with a curriculum incorporating community service as a method of learning; and international in scope and regional in application, defined by the geography of the greater Southwest.

Minimum Requirements of GPA 3.0 TOEFL 550 (paper based), 213 (cBT), 80 overall(iBT), with 26 minimum for spoken language, IELTS 7. International students who wish to be considered for a Teaching Assistantship must complete the iBT. GRE recommended, 3 letters of recommendation, Statement of purpose for graduate study indicating area of interest for research and thesis development, Portfolio of creative work including academic projects, design and professional work (include postage if return desired), Biographical profile including a complete record of academic and professional work.
