This program is intended for those who wish to develop and enhance their curriculum and instruction repertoire. It encompasses the study of curricular planning and development with an integration of technology, assessment and evaluation practices, strategies for effective classroom instruction for a variety of learners and critical issues within the field of education. It focuses on instructional methods and materials for teaching English as a second language; theories for the acquisition of a second language; testing and evaluation of students studying English as a second language; and developing curriculum for English as a second language students.

Applicant must have an undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited, or candidate for accreditation, college or university, or a comparable degree from a recognized institution outside the United States, and a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale). They should provide the verification of minimum three years of significant full-time, post-high school work experience and be currently employed. If not currently employed, they must have access to an organizational environment that allows them to apply the concepts they learn in their courses. Applicants should be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or hold an approved valid visa if attending a campus located in the United States. They should pass the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC), the Berlitz Online English Proficiency Exam or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) if the student is a non-native speaker of English.
