The program intended for licensed and experienced teachers who seek additional study in professional education. The following content areas are offered English, Foreign Languages (French or Spanish, K-12), Mathematics, Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics), and Social Studies.

The student with a bachelor degree, average grade of B 3.0 or above on all courses attempted. Meet the research method foreign language requirement. Write an acceptable thesis or pass comprehensive exams. The program requires a core of courses in general theory and research methodology. All students must demonstrate competence in a research skill relevant to their thesis professional goals. The university's minimum residence requirement is one academic year or three summer sessions. All applicants are required to submit scores on the General Test of the Graduate Record Examinations, administered by the Educational Testing Service. Graduate Record Exam Scores of 575 for each of the three general exam areas, Applicants from non-English speaking countries must have a minimum total score of 550 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language administered by the TOEFL Program of the Educational Testing Service. Generally, an undergraduate grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Three letters of recommendation.
