This program gives students the knowledge and skills needed to excel in professional careers in art galleries and auction houses, and in such related fields as corporate curatorship, public art administration, and art market services. Students will study gallery design and management as well as exhibition planning and design. Students will take classes in modern and contemporary art history, and learn specific computer applications for the art world. The curriculum combines classroom studies, field trips, internship opportunities, and practical experience in creating, implementing, and promoting an exhibition. In addition to classes in modern and contemporary art history, studies include writing for the art market; gallery design and operations; the business and marketing of art; art law and professional ethics; appraisal; exhibition planning and design; computer technology for the art world.

Students must have completed a baccalaureate degree in an appropriate major from an accredited college or university with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater. They must possess the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores. Those who have completed less than four years of English at a college or university where English is the primary language of instruction are required to take the TOEFL or IELTS. International students must have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 80 on internet-based (ibt) test, 213 on computer-based test, 550 on paper-based test; IELTS band score of 6.5 in the academic module is required. Applicants who have completed an English composition course at a college in the U.S. are not exempt from taking the TOEFL or IELTS scores.
