The program in the Master of Divinity is sponsored by dioceses and religious communities throughout the United States, Canada and other foreign countries. The program has four components human formation, spiritual formation, intellectual formation, and pastoral formation. It is designed to respect the differences in each person’s life and experience. An undergraduate degree is required for the Master of Divinity degree, although candidates with a minimum of 60 undergraduate credits can be admitted to the Certificate in Priestly Formation Program. Both the degree and certificate programs normally require four years of theological studies. An individualized program of studies and spiritual and human formation can be designed for those candidates who enter the Priestly Formation Program as permanent deacons or who have been in religious life.

Modules include Scriptural Foundations, Pentateuch and Historical Books, Prophetic Books, Psalms and Wisdom Literature, Synoptic Gospels and Acts of the Apostles, Pauline Literature, Gospel of John and Catholic Epistles, Science and Religion, Historical Jesus, Qumran and Christian Origins, The Book of Revelations and Apocalytic Literature, Book of Genesis, Sacred Heart: Devotion and Doctrine, Psychology and Religious Experience, Biblical Greek I and II, Biblical Hebrew I and II, Ecclestical Latin I and II, Ecumenism and Interfaith Relations.

The applicant should be at least 30 years old. The applicant should possess an undergraduate degree with six credits of undergraduate philosophy in the areas relevant to theological studies and complete 30 credits of graduate work in the appropriate areas with a cumulative grade point average of 3.00. Applicant must submit all past education and specialization training records.
