The focus for the specialty area is K-12 Computer Education. Teachers who successfully complete the program requirements earn both a M.Ed. degree and advanced licensure in Instructional Technology Specialist: Computers. Teachers must have a clear initial teaching license when they enter the program. The initial license may be in any K-12 area. Graduates may remain as classroom teachers or they may serve as computer resource teachers or full time computer teaching specialists.

Applicant should have a bachelor's degree (based on a four-year curriculum) completed before graduate study begins or its international equivalent with an accredited institution with an average grade of B (cumulative GPA 3.0) or better. They should submit official GRE General Test scores (or GMAT, MCAT, etc., if accepted by intended program); official TOEFL scores which should be reported directly from ETS. The required minimum total score on the paper-based TOEFL exam is 550 with a minimum of 50 in each section and total score on the internet-based TOEFL exam is 79.
