GSO supports a large seawater facility and aquarium, the excellent Pell marine science library, and science facilities (large ones described, below). Some of our facilities are used for analytical services. The complex of Marine Life Research Facilities with flow-through seawater at URI are the Ann Gall Durbin Marine Research Aquarium; the Ark Annex to the Aquarium; the Luther Blount Aquaculture Laboratory; the Eel Grass Research Facility; the Marine Ecosystems Research Laboratory; and the Seawater Pump House that provides flowing seawater to the entire complex. The Pell Marine Science Library is located in Narragansett, Rhode Island on the Narragansett Bay Campus of the University of Rhode Island.

Housing and Residential Life strives to provide safe, secure, and well maintained living accommodations. We seek to create residential communities within which students will succeed academically and demonstrate a shared respect for the personal rights and human dignity of all community members. We offer residential programs that support and cultivate individual wellness and development, campus involvement, diversity and inclusion, ethical and responsible choices, and pride in the University of Rhode Island. Housing and Residential Life (HRL) operates 22 undergraduate residence halls, 4 graduate and undergraduate apartment complexes, and the Rainbow Diversity House. We offer several first year living and learning communities (LLC) as well as the Health Sciences House in Wiley Hall and the CELS House in Garrahy Hall, both upper class theme communities. Approximately 5000 students are currently housed in these residences. Housing and Residential Life works closely with the Office of Student Life in supporting Greek life in the 14 fraternity and sorority houses located on campus. Additionally, we provide liaison support to the Women in Science and Technology theme house and the two International Engineering Program theme houses currently located on Upper College Road. University Gateway Apartments are located at the entrance of Upper College Rd. There are 24 apartments designated for graduate students. The apartments are unfurnished but do have a stove and refrigerator. The monthly rent includes heat and hot water. A laundry facility is located at the end of the complex. The Gateway community offers a 24-hour on-call site manager and convenient parking. A graduate assistant is available to provide on-site assistance and service. University Village is located directly across the main street from the Kingston Campus on Route 138.
