This program has three options and prepares students for high school or college teaching, for careers in business or industry, and for doctoral study in mathematics or other fields. The mathematics education option emphasizes scope in mathematics and broad teaching experience.

The modules include Analysis: Advanced Calculus I (Math 5043); Algebra/Number Theory: 3 hours from any of Number Theory (Math 4713), Modern Algebra I (Math 5003), Modern Algebra II (Math 5013), Advanced Linear Algebra (Math 5023); Mathematics Education: Topics in Collegiate Mathematics Education (Math 6990); Discrete Mathematics/Computer Science: Numerical Analysis (Math 4513), Linear and Nonlinear Programming (Math 4553), Combinatorial Math (Math 4663), Numerical Analysis for Differential Equations (Math 5543), Numerical Analysis for Linear Algebra (Math 5553); Computer Science Migration (CS 4154), Data Structures and Algorithm Analysis I (CS 4343), Artificial Intelligence I (CS 4793); Geometry: Groups and Representations (Math 4813), Differential Geometry (Math 5413); Computer Graphics (CS 4143); Statistics: Applied Regression Analysis (Stat 4043), Statistics for Experimenters I (Stat 5013), Statistics for Experimenters II (Stat 5023), Sample Survey Designs (Stat 5043), Multivariate Methods (Stat 5063), Probability Theory (Stat 5123), Statistical Inference (Stat 5223), Experimental Design (Stat 5303).

Applicants should have a grade point average of 3.0 or above. International students should have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 79 (internet based test) or 550 (paper based test); or an IELTS score of 6.5.
