This program is jointly offered by the Department of Speech Communication and the Department of Theatre. Students choose their courses according to whether they are interested in speech communication or in theatre. Contact the two departments for more information. Students in the Master of Arts in Communication Studies and Theatre Arts choose either a speech or theatre track. Students interested in theatre should contact the Department of Theatre. Students in speech communication work closely with the debate team, the speech lab and the community outreach program. They sometimes serve as assistant coaches while traveling with and supervising the team. They use the degree to prepare for debate coaching positions of their own, further graduate study or enhancement of their professional careers.

Courses required of Radio-Television majors: Twelve hours selected from the following: MCOM 5023, Public Opinion, Propaganda and the Mass Media, MCOM 6023, Advanced Studies in Communications Law, MCOM 6801-3, Independent Study, RTV 5053, Comparative Broadcast Systems, RTV 5323, News Production and Performance, RTV 5333, Special Topics, RTV 5363, Multimedia Production Techniques, RTV 5373, Internet Communications, RTV 6023, Advanced Studies in Broadcast Management, RTV 6033, The Broadcast Documentary.

Students should Obtaining a minimum 60% in English at X and XII in Certificate in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. Students should have a Notarized or Original Copy of University Diploma or Provisional Graduation Certificate without any conditions stating that Bachelor’s Degree awarded. Official or Notarized Copy of all University Transcripts in English with a minimum GPA of 2.75 (some programs might require higher GPA) Proof of English Proficiency Completing ASU’s ESL Program Minimum grade of 90% or above. TOEFL – Paper-Based 550, TOEFL – Computer-Based 213, TOEFL – Internet-Based 79. IELTS – Academic 6.0.- Official Score from British Council. English as Official Language CIA World Fact Book. Students having Conditional Admission. High School Graduate (minimum 2 years of attendance) from USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Applications should be submitted at least six weeks before the registration date of the term which the applicants plan to attend.
