This course emphasizes current and emerging leadership theories, best practices, skills, and tools used to enable organizational innovation, creativity, and change in complex work environments. Students will develop their ability to achieve enterprise-wide engagement through collaboration and cooperation, virtual environments and new media, talent development, sustainability and ethics and social responsibility. At strategic points in this program, students will work with a leadership coach who will help them assess and develop their leadership skills, facilitate the transfer of their academic knowledge into workplace settings, and prepare themselves for leadership longevity. People who choose this specialization are often pursuing leadership or management positions in business, military, government and nonprofit settings.

Core modules include: LEAD5004 - Leading for the Future, LEAD5110 - Managing and Leading in Dynamic Environments, LEAD5120 - Developing as a Leader, LEAD5130 - Leading and Developing Others, LEAD5140 - Leading Collaboratively, LEAD5150 - Leading Adaptive Organizational Systems, LEAD5160 - Developing Innovative Organizations and LEAD5170 - Strategies for Sustainability. Specialization modules 3 to be taken from the following include: LEAD5210 - Leading Global and Diverse Cultures, LEAD5220 - Leader as Change Agent, LEAD5230 - Leadership Communication and New Media, LEAD5240 - Leading in Social and Community-Based Organizations, LEAD5250 - Leadership in Family Business and LEAD5260 - Social Entrepreneurship. Capstone module to be taken in the final quarter is LEAD5300 - Contemporary Leadership Opportunities Capstone - 4 quarter credits.

Students must have completed bachelor's degree from an institution accredited by a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accrediting agency or an internationally recognized institution. They should possess a cumulative GPA of 2.3 from a bachelor's degree granting institution. International students whose language of instruction is not English are required to take one of the following tests: the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum acceptable score of 550 on paper-based test, 213 on computer-based test with a score of 4.0 or higher on the Test of Written English (TWE), or 79 on internet based examination; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) score of 80; International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a score of 6.5; or Pearson Test of English (PTE) score of 59.
