Computer engineering integrates principles and practices from electrical engineering, computer science, and other engineering/science fields to create complex systems combining hardware, software, and sophisticated algorithms. Applications include such diverse areas as video games, visual environments, networked system environments, computer-aided design tools, advanced computation systems, medical information systems, autonomous systems, design of complex digital systems including VLSI systems, development of bio-inspired algorithms for advanced systems, and many others.
