This program is designed for those who want to prepare themselves for leadership positions within the field of administration of justice. Several objectives underlie the scope and content of the specialization: Offering an ethical and scholarly understanding of the issues and ramifications of current and anticipated policies in criminal justice; Developing persons capable of exercising independent, analytical thought consistent with the needs of a democratic society; Providing a core of leaders familiar with the issues of criminal justice management and policy analysis. This specialization can serve people working in all areas of criminal justice, including: Local, state and federal law enforcement, Social services, Court administration, Corrections, Victim services.

Applicants should have: A bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university, or the equivalent foreign degree; Ideally, a 3.20 grade point average or better on a 4.00 scale. However, admission is based on a number of criteria, and applicants may be admitted to the program with a slightly lower GPA if other criteria indicate success in graduate school.
