This program is designed for those who want to prepare themselves for management positions within the health care industry. As managed care and the integration of health care delivery continue to evolve, new skills and knowledge are needed to keep pace with current demands. This program provides a foundation in finance, economics, policy, leadership, systems, and outcome planning and evaluation, specifically related to the changing health care system. Through the many elective offerings — informatics, case management, marketing, program development, administrative practicum, conflict resolution, long-term care and more — students can explore a wide range of special interests. This specialization gives students skills that apply to health care organizations of all kinds, including: Hospitals, Health plans, Managed care organizations, Long-term care settings, Clinics, Academic medical centers, Hospices, Home health agencies, Public health departments.

Applicants should have: A bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university, or the equivalent foreign degree; Ideally, a 3.20 grade point average or better on a 4.00 scale. However, admission is based on a number of criteria, and applicants may be admitted to the program with a slightly lower GPA if other criteria indicate success in graduate school.
