This program prepare information system scholars for careers as researchers and educators in university programs. Students may also prepare for careers as information system professionals in industry. This program builds upon a firm technical foundation in such areas as programming, database management, telecommunications, and systems analysis and design. It provides students with a strong grounding in information system research methodologies and the current state of information system research in such areas as electronic markets, e-commerce, global information technology, computer-mediated communication systems, information retrieval, intelligent systems, and financial information systems, among others.

Students should possess an acceptable bachelor's or bachelors and master's degree from an accredited institution whose requirements for the particular degree are substantially equivalent to those of the City University of New York. The average TOEFL score of accepted applicants is 650. Please be advised that English language proficiency is a very important part of the application process, and a low TOEFL score severely hinders your likelihood of acceptance. The average GMAT score of accepted applicants is 700. As in other programs, the higher your GMAT score, the more likely your chances of acceptance. The GMAT score is a critical part of the application process. Your application will be reviewed without it, but we will not be able to make any decision until we get an official score.
