The Doctorate in Leadership for the Advancement of Learning and Service provides advanced study in leadership that prepares graduates to make significant contributions to their organizations and communities. The program is designed for professions with present or emerging leadership responsibilities in a variety of learning communities: universities, colleges, business and industry, health care institutions, community organizations, social services, unions, libraries, government agencies, vocational education, staff training programs, consulting organizations, international agencies, as well as K-12 public, private and parochial schools. The Doctorate in Leadership for the Advancement of Learning and Service is a natural extension of Stritch’s commitment to live and promote the Franciscan values of peacemaking, community, caring and hospitality.

The minimum admission requirements are: a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. A grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 system, At least 12 undergraduate credits in religious studies or equivalent competencies. A letter of endorsement from the pastor or parish director of students parish. A valid Wisconsin in teaching license. At least one year of teaching experience. Two attitude and disposition questionnaires completed by references. A personal essay that is a maximum one-page (double-spaced) word-processed statement addressing your "leadership philosophy" and your reasons for entering the program. To be considered for admission into the program, students must submit: Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended, including evidence of master’s degree completion. Grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale in master’s course work is required. Portfolio consisting of, but not limited to, the criteria listed below. Assemble portfolio in a folder. All materials should be typed or electronically produced. 1. Curriculum Vitae 2. Three letters of recommendation 3. Formal essay. This essay is an essential aspect of the admission process and will be carefully evaluated in order to make a decision on students’ entry into the doctoral program. Non-native English speakers must submit scores of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Students who are not able to access the TOEFL may be allowed to submit scores from another testing mechanism (ACT, SAT, GMAT, ASSET). This will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Japanese students may submit STEP as an alternative to the TOEFL.
