This program is offered as a minor field of study only and focuses upon the methodological and modeling technologies that form the foundations for analyzing systems. All students in the Quantitative Methods Core obtain substantial training in methodological skills and advanced modeling issues.

Applicants should demonstrate a set of clearly defined career objectives. Applicants are invited to submit additional materials (ex: authored journal articles, masters theses, unpublished manuscripts). Students are accepted from many different disciplines. However, those with an undergraduate degree in fields such as economics, engineering, mathematics, the physical sciences, and business may demonstrate a good preparation for doctoral work at the Simon School. Regardless of the major areas of study, a strong academic record is essential. Many applicants have completed study at a graduate level, but such work is not a prerequisite for admission into the program. GMAT, GRE, TOEFL tests are required. Notarized English translations are required for all official documents and transcripts. In most cases, international students are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The TOEFL will be waived only for candidates who have studied for one or more years at a college or university where English is the language of instruction.
