पाठ्यक्रमबारे सारश
This program provides the opportunity to work closely with faculty advisors and postdoctoral research associates at the cutting-edge of basic and disease-relevant research. A major strength of the graduate program is its breadth, with active laboratory programs in a diverse array of areas including bacteriology, virology, mycology, parasitology, host immunity, autoimmunity, and translational and clinical immunology/microbiology. Graduate students at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine often undertake interdisciplinary projects which draw on the scientific expertise of faculty in the basic science and clinical departments.
अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय विद्यार्थीहरू प्रवेशको लागि आवश्यकता
Students should hold a Masters degree in microbiology from a college or university of recognized standing, or present evidence of an equivalent education have successfully completed undergraduate courses in biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, mathematics, and physics or have successfully completed an undergraduate engineering curriculum The average GPA score is 3.73 and the average MCAT scores of 10.3 in Verbal, 11 in Physical Sciences and 11 in Biological Science. स्थानबारे जानकारी
The Department of Microbiology and Immunology is dedicated to excellence in research and to training graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. The faculty is comprised of a unique combination of basic researchers and physician-scientists, who have additional appointments in clinical divisions such as Infectious Diseases, Rheumatology and Immunology. Our faculty and their trainees study the molecular pathogenesis of infectious organisms, the immune response to such infections as well the immune response which results in the autoimmunity of type 1 diabetes or systemic lupus erythematosus. We have world-class programs in a variety of areas. These include tuberculosis (pathogenesis and vaccine development), malaria (mechanisms of drug resistance and novel chemotherapeutic strategies), AIDS research under the auspices of an NIH-funded Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) and International AIDS research in the AIDS International Training and Research Program (AITRP), crystallographic studies of antigen presentation and T cell activation, use of therapeutic antibodies including trials in humans and development of novel therapies for agents of bioterrrorism. Additional departmental laboratories are studying the entry mechanism of hepatitis C virus, mechanism of HIV-1 reverse transcriptase, the mechanism and epidemiology of human papillomavirus-associated malignancies, adenovirus immunoregulatory proteins and their effects on signal transduction pathways, molecular basis of latency of Toxoplasma, mechanism of cell killing by anthrax toxins, and pathogenesis of several fungi including Cryptococcus and Aspergillus. Trainees in our department benefit from weekly pre- and postdoctoral presented work-in-progress sessions, which rotate between different laboratories, a bi-annual retreat, shared core facilities which amplify the ability of each of our laboratories to have access to sophisticated technologies in imaging, mass spectroscopy, fluorescent activated cell sorting, nuclear

आवास सम्बन्धी विस्तृत जानकारी
Housing at Einstein is among the best you’ll find at any medical school in the country. Apartments are large. Rents are low. Security is excellent. Every M.D. and Ph.D. student is guaranteed an apartment, and we are able to provide an on-campus apartment for most postdocs who want one as well. Located near the Westchester border in the northeast Bronx, the environment around Einstein combines the best of two worlds: small-town living with its special sense of “community”-and lower cost of living-and easy access to big city excitement in Manhattan. The College of Medicine owns two housing complexes: the Eastchester Road Residence (for M.D. and Ph.D. students), which is located right on the Einstein campus, and the Rhinelander Apartments , located two short blocks from the medical school. Together, the two complexes contain 765 apartments. And we mean apartments, not dorm rooms. You’ll be living in either a full-sized studio, one-bedroom or two-bedroom apartment containing such amenities as air-conditioning, fully equipped eat-in-kitchens and lots of closet space. Each complex has laundry facilities on the premises. The Eastchester Road Residence consists of three 27-story towers, with 634 air-conditioned apartments, a large underground garage, and an extensive landscaped sitting/playing area. The monthly rent, which includes all utilities, is about $449 for a studio, $627 for a one-bedroom, and $806 for two-bedroom apartments. With two or three students sharing a one-or two-bedroom apartment, the monthly cost is significantly reduced, averaging about $250 per student. An active list of students seeking roommates is available. The monthly rent at the Rhinelander Residence varies from about $460 for a studio to $747 for a two-bedroom apartment. Here also, the cost can be reduced significantly through sharing.
