This is not a major; it is a specific curriculum, or set of courses, that are required for admission to optometry school. The required undergraduate coursework for pre-optometry students is extensive and covers a wide variety of advanced health, science, and mathematics courses. In addition to the required curriculum, most optometry schools either require or strongly recommend the completion of an undergraduate degree prior to entering optometry school. For this reason, most students choose a major and complete the requirements for a bachelor's degree prior to applying to optometry school.
