Hi everyone. It feels great to write a review about the college, which I used to read about, way back. Syracuse is a pretty decent school to come and learn. the most attractive feature of the university is that it provides a very flexible course structure as compared to any other university. Although its a private Institution and a little costly, but yes, its worth investing your money here. The university has got some very renowned professors which helps in the long run. The job prospects are pretty good as far as job fairs are concerned. Many companies do come here. Funding chances are rare for Master students coz of the priority given to those doing PhD. On campus job scenario is very good, Jobs are available to almost everyone here who wish for it. University's campus is very big, with diversity ranging from old Roman architectural mansions to the most sophisticated state-of-the art buildings. It feels great sitting in a Mansion and learning..!! syracuse is, although, a small town, with nothing much to do, but, its quite enjoyable to live here. winters are worst in Syracuse. Overall I'll give 4 out of 5 as far as learning is concerned. I'll definitely recommend students.
The visa process was quite unpredictable and I consider it as a mere good luck that I got visa. All my friends had got and I was the one left (I booked a late slot) My slot was at 9:30 am in the morning at Mumbai. We left the hotel at 6:00 am and reached there around 7:30, yet there was a huge queue. I would recommend students to make up to the visa office as early as possible or else it becomes a real hectic job, a real mess!! (we need to stand outside the office and u know the weather of Mumbai!!) My number came quite early. I entered the office at 9:15 and came out at 9:45. The VO had refused all the visas of the ppl in front of me & what my plight was, I can't describe in words here. The VO was a lady and looked real martinet. She saw my I20 and then typed something in the PC there. Then asked me several ques like where do you stay in India?Why Syracuse? Undergrad %? Which other Admits? If not Syracuse where would you've gone? I would say to ppl- BE HONEST. Just tell the true answers, do not try to make up something which is untrue. I had received scholarship in Syracuse so I said - Syracuse was the best among admits coz its a good school and moreover I've received Graduate scholarship which doesn't leave any reason not to choose it. Please mention any scholarships you receive, this brightens ur chances. I would say - stay cool, control ur nerves, be confident and even if u do not get visa that's not the end. keep trying. ALL THE BEST!! TO ALL
Chances are less for MS as compared to PhDs but there are many people who've received funding
The students are friendly and there are many things that keep going on in the University throughout the semester so as far as recreational facilities are concerned, Syracuse University gets a 5 Star!!!
