I'm enjoying the study and exercising my brain. The course is varied and interesting and I'm learning the practice of counselling as well as the theory. The lecturers are friendly and do a great job of passing on their knowledge. I look up to them and think that if I can be even a small percentage as good a counsellor as they are I will be doing a really good job in my chosen new field.

As a mature aged student I filled in an application form which included a short essay on why I wanted to do the course then attended an interview with the Dean who advised me at the time that I had been accepted on the basis of the interview and essay.

I found a brochure in some advertising material from a bookshop and knew it was the course I needed to do to get the training I wanted. As they offer FEE-HELP I knew I would be able to afford the fees and felt that I would be able to afford textbooks etc if I budgetted carefully.

The course content is excellent and focussed on what we need to know as counsellors including being able to practice in a non-threatening environment (with classmates) the skills we would require. The lecturers and tutors are highly qualified and excellent communicators. If I had to do it all over again I would it is worth every dollar I've spent on it. If you are considering a course such as this I would say simply 'go for it!'

The campus is small and intimate and is fairly well laid out. The facilities are adequate for a campus this size. I have private accommodation. It should not be difficult to find part-time work as it is fairly close to major shopping centres etc.

I believe that after I graduate I will be able to find a job in my chosen field of counselling as this is a growing area and I am being well equipped to undertake this career.
