It has State of art infrastructure. Make sure that you have got a good professor to work under.
I took GRE & TOEFL. I prepared on my own. Books referred were - Barrons' GRE, Kaplan's premium GRE program, Cracking the GRE, Princeton Review and lot of online material. I need F1 VISA. The visa interview was very easy. Easy to get to the kansas. I flew Continental Airlines. It was good. Normal baggage allowance. No student fair since I went in for cheaper plan. I didn't face any problem at the immigration.
I loved the program. I cant stress more how important it is to work under a good professor. I was lucky to be working under one such professor. He had awful number of contacts with the top industry contacts which helped me break into the industry. Initial break is so important for a fresher like me.
We did have a placement division. It assisted us with resume building to sending profiles to companies. Taught us soft skills and how to give interviews. H1 is tough to get now. It wasn't that bad then. Alumni does help to a certain extent. It wasn't of much help at my time.
