Its been a different experience altogether for me as level of studies back at home and here are quite different. It feels like as if I did nothing during my undergraduate days. I think one requires dedication, hard work and sheer determination to excel at the graduate level. It is difficult to come to a new country, culture but these things should not hamper ones progress towards the final goal.

I am not really sure how to answer this question but I think it was not much difficult as various factors that decide upon admission were in my favor that is a decent GRE SCORE OF 1300,toefl, good grades in engineering. Also I had approached one of the professors whom I was interested in doing research I think my interest helped me score over others. Visa process was good and travel experience extremely nice I watched lots of movies on my way to Newyork.

My courses were pretty much the core courses of petroleum hence it was tough initially to cope up, but slowly I started to put in more effort and time which proved beneficial for me. One thing that I felt needs improvement is things appear to be too much cramped up towards the latter part hence probably increasing the semester's duration or decreasing the course work should be taken into serious consideration. Facilities are good, one cannot ask for more and professors and staff always on their toes to help students.

Campus facilities are amazing that is the library facilities, dorms, dining commons. I mean this is America nothing can be wrong here! I love spending time reading novels, cooking, watching movies etc. My rent is around 300$/month. There is a Chinese community which keeps organizing different events throughout the year especially the ones we celebrate back home.

I think a degree above others in this world of cut throat competition should add up to my advantage. Also it's the overall experience that counts rather than just the degree. I would definitely like to work for an oil and gas firm in the coming future. Campus recruitments are down at present but we can all hope that they get better as time progresses.
