My family and friends are in Oregon, and the reception I got at OSU was much better than that which I received at the other schools. Here, it was more welcoming and people in the program were interested in knowing more about me. I saw difference between the US and my country, and get back to think with more about where I come from. I realized that I am representative of my country and am now more aware of my culture. The education in the US I received by far has stimulated me to expand my interests. Do not get disgruntled. Your idea and goals change since life changes one after another. There is nothing wrong with changes. If you change your mind, you have every opportunity to pursue what you want so should take the opportunity. You can do anything you want.

Education in OSU is a personal experience rather than academic experience. I like being able to participate in class to share my work and what I have done such as my experience in India for 15 years. Furthermore, I like participating in professional symposiums and being able to give a presentation about my research and professional experience. I got full opportunity to hone my skills because I can study what interest me. I‘m encouraged to seek or learn more what I‘m passion about. This environment has made me better professional and will have impact on my career.

When we make a transition from our country to the US, it is good not to have something overwhelming. I like Corvallis having a small town atmosphere. Everything is in walking distance. When I first encountered my academic adviser and was checking out the department, what impressed me was that he was interested in me as a person.Having worked with local Corvallis community is very interesting and energizing. Through working on Campus for three terms, I have some very good experience with American system. I have been program assistant in interface between international students and faculties and conversation partner. I work at student health services as well.

This environment has made me better professional and will have impact on my career. I will go back to my country and take back and give back to my country what I learned here. Education in OSU opened door for me in terms of professional development.
