My advice to future students would be to try to get good GRE score and TOEFL above 85 and most important is you need to work hard once you get here.
GRE and TOEFL are the exams I took. I went to Visu Coaching centre. I did not go to any educational counselor. I needed a Student F1 Visa. The interview was fine, good with straight answers to their questions, was easy. It was easy to get tickets to my destination. I flew Jet airways from Hyderabad to Newark and to Norfolk. On Wednesday, I think, direct flight is there. Norfolk international airport (ORF) its nearly 30 min same as other flight. No issue at immigration. Mail the Indian student association (ISA), they will take care of things, temporary accommodation with other Indian students is provided by ISA once student reaches here, later moving to our own independent accommodation.
Assistance ships depend on funding of dept and number of students joined in that university, but if we try hard we can get a job.
The program is really good, the Professors also help us a lot for improvement.
The university is near by ocean hence temperature change a lot. In night we take help of cops. There are so many communities and association are ISA which organize specials events on Diwali, Aug 15, Jan 26, etc.
No sort of placement cell is present. Job fairs are held. I guess there is no alumni network.
